मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-32, verse-24

पतितैर्मलिनैश्चैव न पुष्णाति पितामहान् ।
वर्जनीयं तथा श्राद्धे तथोदक्याश्च दर्शनम् ॥२४॥
24. patitairmalinaiścaiva na puṣṇāti pitāmahān .
varjanīyaṃ tathā śrāddhe tathodakyāśca darśanam.
24. patitaiḥ malinaiḥ ca eva na puṣṇāti pitāmahān
varjanīyam tathā śrāddhe tathā udakyāḥ ca darśanam
24. That which is offered by the fallen and the impure does not nourish the ancestors. Similarly, the sight of menstruating women should be avoided during the obsequial ritual (śrāddha).
