"sā-adridrumā pṛthivī viśīrṇā syāt iti eva" matvā,

As he (Karna) shot and struck them with arrows held in his hands, and from the sound of his bow, the people became dejected, thinking, 'The earth (pṛthivī), along with its mountains and trees, will surely be shattered!'
