महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-12, verse-14

देवर्षिगन्धर्वयुतः परमो मेरुरुच्यते ।
प्रागायतो महाराज मलयो नाम पर्वतः ।
यतो मेघाः प्रवर्तन्ते प्रभवन्ति च सर्वशः ॥१४॥
14. devarṣigandharvayutaḥ paramo merurucyate ,
prāgāyato mahārāja malayo nāma parvataḥ ,
yato meghāḥ pravartante prabhavanti ca sarvaśaḥ.

14. (ayam) devarṣigandharvayutaḥ paramaḥ meruḥ ucyate mahārāja,

14. The supreme Meru, accompanied by gods, sages, and Gandharvas, is thus named. O great king, there is also a mountain called Malaya, which stretches eastward, from which clouds originate and spread in all directions.
