स च तामाह याचन्तीं भीष्ममेव निवर्तय ।
न हि मे कुरुते काममित्यहं तमुपागमम् ॥२९॥

29. sa ca tāmāha yācantīṁ bhīṣmameva nivartaya ,
na hi me kurute kāmamityahaṁ tamupāgamam.

saḥ ca tām āha yācantīm bhīṣmam eva nivartaya

And he (Parasurama) said to her, who was pleading, 'Indeed, make Bhishma desist.' (Amba herself had approached him with the plea, thinking:) 'Indeed, he (Bhishma) does not fulfill my desire (kāmam).'
