महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-153, verse-9

ततस्ते ब्राह्मणाश्चक्रुरेकं सेनापतिं द्विजम् ।
नयेषु कुशलं शूरमजयन्क्षत्रियांस्ततः ॥९॥
9. tataste brāhmaṇāścakrurekaṁ senāpatiṁ dvijam ,
nayeṣu kuśalaṁ śūramajayankṣatriyāṁstataḥ.

nayeṣu kuśalam śūram ajayan kṣatriyān tatas

9. Then those Brahmins appointed one Brahmin, who was skilled in strategies and brave, as their commander. Thereafter, they conquered the kṣatriyas.
