महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-153, verse-25

कर्ण उवाच ।
नाहं जीवति गाङ्गेये योत्स्ये राजन्कथंचन ।
हते भीष्मे तु योत्स्यामि सह गाण्डीवधन्वना ॥२५॥
25. karṇa uvāca ,
nāhaṁ jīvati gāṅgeye yotsye rājankathaṁcana ,
hate bhīṣme tu yotsyāmi saha gāṇḍīvadhanvanā.
25. karṇaḥ uvāca na aham jīvati gāṅgeye yotsye rājan
kathaṃcana hate bhīṣme tu yotsyāmi saha gāṇḍīvadhanvanā
25. karṇaḥ uvāca rājan aham gāṅgeye jīvati kathaṃcana na
yotsye tu bhīṣme hate gāṇḍīvadhanvanā saha yotsyāmi
25. Karṇa said: 'O King, I will not fight at all while Gāṅgeya (Bhīṣma) is alive. However, when Bhīṣma is killed, I will fight alongside the wielder of the Gāṇḍīva bow (Arjuna).'
