एवमुक्त्वा द्युमत्सेनो विरराम महामनाः ।
तिष्ठन्ती चापि सावित्री काष्ठभूतेव लक्ष्यते ॥८॥

8. mārkaṇḍeya uvāca ,
evamuktvā dyumatseno virarāma mahāmanāḥ ,
tiṣṭhantī cāpi sāvitrī kāṣṭhabhūteva lakṣyate.

Mārkaṇḍeya said: "Having spoken thus, the noble-minded Dyamatsena ceased speaking. Sāvitrī, standing there, also appeared as if turned into a wooden statue."
