महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-273, verse-29

महाराज्ये स्थितो दीप्ते न स्त्रियं हन्तुमर्हसि ।
हतैवैषा यदा स्त्री च बन्धनस्था च ते गृहे ॥२९॥
29. mahārājye sthito dīpte na striyaṁ hantumarhasi ,
hataivaiṣā yadā strī ca bandhanasthā ca te gṛhe.
29. mahārājye sthitaḥ dīpte na striyam hantum arhasi
hatā eva eṣā yadā strī ca bandhanasthā ca te gṛhe
29. You, who are established in a glorious, great kingdom, should not kill a woman. Indeed, she is already as good as dead, being a woman and confined in your house.
