महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-169, verse-32

तत एषां वधार्थाय शक्रोऽस्त्राणि ददौ तव ।
न हि शक्याः सुरैर्हन्तुं य एते निहतास्त्वया ॥३२॥
32. tata eṣāṁ vadhārthāya śakro'strāṇi dadau tava ,
na hi śakyāḥ surairhantuṁ ya ete nihatāstvayā.
32. tataḥ eṣām vadhārthāya śakraḥ astrāṇi dadau tava
na hi śakyāḥ suraiḥ hantum ye ete nihatāḥ tvayā
32. Therefore, Śakra (Indra) gave you weapons for their destruction, because these beings, whom you have slain, could certainly not have been killed by the gods.
