महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-47, verse-16

एकपादांश्च तत्राहमपश्यं द्वारि वारितान् ।
बल्यर्थं ददतस्तस्मै हिरण्यं रजतं बहु ॥१६॥
16. ekapādāṁśca tatrāhamapaśyaṁ dvāri vāritān ,
balyarthaṁ dadatastasmai hiraṇyaṁ rajataṁ bahu.

balyartham dadatas tasmai hiraṇyam rajatam bahu
16. There, at the gate, I saw one-footed beings who were being stopped, offering gold and much silver to him for the sake of an offering (bali).
