महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-3, verse-7

वारुणश्च महाशङ्खो देवदत्तः सुघोषवान् ।
सर्वमेतत्प्रदास्यामि भवते नात्र संशयः ।
इत्युक्त्वा सोऽसुरः पार्थं प्रागुदीचीमगाद्दिशम् ॥७॥
7. vāruṇaśca mahāśaṅkho devadattaḥ sughoṣavān ,
sarvametatpradāsyāmi bhavate nātra saṁśayaḥ ,
ityuktvā so'suraḥ pārthaṁ prāgudīcīmagāddiśam.
7. vāruṇaḥ ca mahāśaṅkhaḥ devadattaḥ
sughoṣavān sarvam etat pradāsyāmi
bhavate na atra saṃśayaḥ iti uktvā saḥ
asuraḥ pārtham prāgudīcīm agāt diśam
7. And the great conch of Varuṇa, named Devadatta, which is beautifully resounding—all of this I will give to you; there is no doubt about it. Having said this to Partha, that asura went towards the northeast direction.
