महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-14, chapter-95, verse-14

सत्रं चेदं महद्विप्रा मुनेर्द्वादशवार्षिकम् ।
न वर्षिष्यति देवश्च वर्षाण्येतानि द्वादश ॥१४॥
14. satraṁ cedaṁ mahadviprā munerdvādaśavārṣikam ,
na varṣiṣyati devaśca varṣāṇyetāni dvādaśa.

na varṣiṣyati devaḥ ca varṣāṇi etāni dvādaśa
14. O sages, this great Vedic ritual of the sage is for twelve years. And the god will not shower rain for these twelve years.
