महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-14, chapter-95, verse-11

एवंविधेस्त्वगस्त्यस्य वर्तमाने महाध्वरे ।
न ववर्ष सहस्राक्षस्तदा भरतसत्तम ॥११॥
11. evaṁvidhestvagastyasya vartamāne mahādhvare ,
na vavarṣa sahasrākṣastadā bharatasattama.
11. evaṃvidheḥ tu agastyasya vartamāne mahādhvare
na vavarṣa sahasrākṣaḥ tadā bharatasattama
11. But, O best of Bharatas, while Agastya's great Vedic ritual (adhvara) of this kind was ongoing, Indra, the thousand-eyed, did not send rain at that time.
