महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-67, verse-30

यो ददाति स्थितः स्थित्यां तादृशाय प्रतिग्रहम् ।
उभयोरक्षयं धर्मं तं मनुः प्राह धर्मवित् ॥३०॥
30. yo dadāti sthitaḥ sthityāṁ tādṛśāya pratigraham ,
ubhayorakṣayaṁ dharmaṁ taṁ manuḥ prāha dharmavit.

30. Manu, the knower of natural law (dharma), declared that a gift given by one steadfast in their proper duty to such a deserving person brings an imperishable merit for both the giver and the recipient.
