महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-67, verse-3

मध्यदेशे महान्ग्रामो ब्राह्मणानां बभूव ह ।
गङ्गायमुनयोर्मध्ये यामुनस्य गिरेरधः ॥३॥
3. madhyadeśe mahāngrāmo brāhmaṇānāṁ babhūva ha ,
gaṅgāyamunayormadhye yāmunasya gireradhaḥ.

3. In the Madhyadeśa (middle country), there was a large village of brahmins. It was situated between the Ganga and Yamuna rivers, at the foot of the Yamuna mountain.
