वायुरुवाच ।
इमां भूमिं ब्राह्मणेभ्यो दित्सुर्वै दक्षिणां पुरा ।
अङ्गो नाम नृपो राजंस्ततश्चिन्तां मही ययौ ॥१॥

imāṁ bhūmiṁ brāhmaṇebhyo ditsurvai dakṣiṇāṁ purā ,
aṅgo nāma nṛpo rājaṁstataścintāṁ mahī yayau.

1. Vāyu said: "O King, formerly, when a king named Aṅga desired to give this land to brahmins as a ritual gift (dāna), the Earth experienced distress."
