महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-72, verse-7

कामक्रोधौ पुरस्कृत्य योऽर्थं राजानुतिष्ठति ।
न स धर्मं न चाप्यर्थं परिगृह्णाति बालिशः ॥७॥
7. kāmakrodhau puraskṛtya yo'rthaṁ rājānutiṣṭhati ,
na sa dharmaṁ na cāpyarthaṁ parigṛhṇāti bāliśaḥ.
7. kāmakrodhau puraskṛtya yaḥ artham rājā anutiṣṭhati
na saḥ dharmam na ca api artham parigṛhṇāti bāliśaḥ
7. yaḥ bāliśaḥ kāmakrodhau puraskṛtya rājā artham
anutiṣṭhati saḥ dharmam na ca api artham na parigṛhṇāti
7. That foolish person who pursues his objectives (artha) by prioritizing desire and anger, does not acquire either righteous conduct (dharma) or even material prosperity.
