19.
O King, Jaritā, distressed and overcome by affection (sneha), did not abandon her little sons in the Khāṇḍava forest—those sages (ṛṣīn) who were still in their eggs, abandoned by him yet not to be abandoned. She also supported them, once they were born, by her own means of sustenance.
