अहं ज्येष्ठा धर्मपत्नी ज्येष्ठं धर्मफलं मम ।
अवश्यं भाविनो भावान्मा मां माद्रि निवर्तय ॥२३॥

23. kuntyuvāca ,
ahaṁ jyeṣṭhā dharmapatnī jyeṣṭhaṁ dharmaphalaṁ mama ,
avaśyaṁ bhāvino bhāvānmā māṁ mādri nivartaya.

Kunti said: I am the eldest wife, and the greatest reward for my dutiful conduct (dharma) is mine. Therefore, O Madri, do not turn me away from these events that are bound to happen.
