आत्मा न वारितोऽनेन सत्यं दिष्टं चिकीर्षुणा ॥२२॥

vilobhyamānena mayā vāryamāṇena cāsakṛt ,
ātmā na vārito'nena satyaṁ diṣṭaṁ cikīrṣuṇā.

Madri said: Even though he was being tempted by me and repeatedly restrained, his self (ātman) was not held back by him, for he truly wished to fulfill destiny.
