योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-4, chapter-51, verse-18

देहि मे भगवन्पुत्र नो चेद्देहमिहाग्नये ।
प्रकरोम्याहुतिं पुत्र दुःखदाहोपशान्तये ॥ १८ ॥
dehi me bhagavanputra no ceddehamihāgnaye ,
prakaromyāhutiṃ putra duḥkhadāhopaśāntaye 18
18. dehi me bhagavan putra na u cet deham iha agnaye
prakaromi āhutim putra duḥkhadāhopaśāntaye
18. bhagavan me putram dehi no cet iha duḥkhadāhopaśāntaye
aham deham putra agnaye āhutim prakaromi
18. O Lord, grant me a son. If not, then I shall make my body here an offering into the fire, O son, for the pacification of the burning pain of sorrow.
