योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-1, chapter-26, verse-4

दहत्यन्तर्दुराशाभिर्देवो दारुणचेष्टया ।
लोकमुष्णप्रकाशाभिज्वालाभिर्दहनो यथा ॥ ४ ॥
dahatyantardurāśābhirdevo dāruṇaceṣṭayā ,
lokamuṣṇaprakāśābhijvālābhirdahano yathā 4
4. dahati antaḥ durāśābhiḥ devaḥ dāruṇa-ceṣṭayā
lokam uṣṇa-prakāśābhiḥ jvālābhiḥ dahanaḥ yathā
4. yathā dahanaḥ uṣṇa-prakāśābhiḥ jvālābhiḥ (lokam dahati),
tathā devaḥ dāruṇa-ceṣṭayā antaḥ durāśābhiḥ lokam dahati.
4. The divine force (deva) burns people internally with wicked desires through its cruel activities, just as fire (dahana) burns with hot, luminous flames.
