योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-1, chapter-26, verse-16

रजोगुणहता दृष्टिस्तमः संपरिवर्धते ।
न चाधिगम्यते सत्त्वं तत्त्वमत्यन्तदूरतः ॥ १६ ॥
rajoguṇahatā dṛṣṭistamaḥ saṃparivardhate ,
na cādhigamyate sattvaṃ tattvamatyantadūrataḥ 16

ca adhigamyate sattvam tattvam atyantadūrataḥ

16. Vision, affected by the quality of passion (rajas guṇa), is impaired. The quality of inertia (tamas) increases completely. And the quality of purity (sattva) is not attained. Ultimate reality (tattva) remains exceedingly far.
