एतत् सहस्रगुणितमो ब्राह्म्यमुदाहृतम् ॥३१॥

This period of twelve thousand (divine years), which is known as a yuga (mahāyuga), has been calculated by the sages. This same period, when multiplied by a thousand, is declared to be a day of (brahman).
