महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-39, verse-17

ततः शुश्राव राजा स राक्षसेभ्यो महाभयम् ।
निर्ययौ नगराच्चापि चतुरङ्गबलान्वितः ॥१७॥
17. tataḥ śuśrāva rājā sa rākṣasebhyo mahābhayam ,
niryayau nagarāccāpi caturaṅgabalānvitaḥ.

17. The king then heard of a great danger from the Rākṣasas. And so, he set out from the city, accompanied by his four-fold army.
