महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-64, verse-31

न चापि कर्णं गुरुपुत्र संस्तवादुपारमेत्यर्हसि वक्तुमच्युत ।
श्रमेण युक्तो महताद्य फल्गुनस्तमेष कर्णः प्रसभं हनिष्यति ॥३१॥
31. na cāpi karṇaṁ guruputra saṁstavā;dupārametyarhasi vaktumacyuta ,
śrameṇa yukto mahatādya phalguna;stameṣa karṇaḥ prasabhaṁ haniṣyati.
31. na ca api karṇam guruputra saṃstavāt
upāramet iti arhasi vaktum acyuta
śrameṇa yuktaḥ mahatā adya phālgunaḥ
tam eṣa karṇaḥ prasabham haniṣyati
31. acyuta guruputra karṇam saṃstavāt
upāramet iti vaktum na ca api arhasi
adya phālgunaḥ mahatā śrameṇa yuktaḥ
eṣa karṇaḥ tam prasabham haniṣyati
31. O Acyuta (Kṛṣṇa), you should not speak to stop (the fight with) Karṇa on account of praising the preceptor's son (Aśvatthāman). For today, Arjuna (phālgunaḥ), afflicted with great weariness, this Karṇa will forcibly kill him.
