महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-16, verse-14

बाणशब्दांश्च विविधाञ्शूराणामभिगर्जताम् ।
श्रुत्वा शब्दं भृशं त्रेसुर्जघ्नुर्मम्लुश्च भारत ॥१४॥
14. bāṇaśabdāṁśca vividhāñśūrāṇāmabhigarjatām ,
śrutvā śabdaṁ bhṛśaṁ tresurjaghnurmamluśca bhārata.

14. O descendant of Bharata, upon hearing the diverse sounds of arrows and the roaring of the warriors, they trembled greatly; some struck (at their foes), while others fainted.
