महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-4, verse-6

हन्यात्स एव यो हन्यात्कुलधर्मं स्वकां तनुम् ।
कालेनोत्पथगन्तासि शक्ये सति यथापथि ॥६॥
6. hanyātsa eva yo hanyātkuladharmaṁ svakāṁ tanum ,
kālenotpathagantāsi śakye sati yathāpathi.
6. hanyāt saḥ eva yaḥ hanyāt kuladharmam svakām tanum
kālena utpathagantā asi śakye sati yathāpathi
6. yaḥ kuladharmam svakām tanum hanyāt saḥ eva hanyāt
kālena tvam utpathagantā asi śakye sati yathāpathi
6. Indeed, only that person should be killed who destroys his family's natural law (dharma) or his own self. You will, over time, stray from the right path, even when it is possible to remain on it.
