महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-4, verse-26

अल्पायां वा महत्यां वा सेनायामिति निश्चितम् ।
हर्षो योधगणस्यैकं जयलक्षणमुच्यते ॥२६॥

26. alpāyāṁ vā mahatyāṁ vā senāyāmiti niścitam ,
harṣo yodhagaṇasyaikaṁ jayalakṣaṇamucyate.

26. It is certainly declared that joy is a singular sign of victory for the assembly of warriors (yodhagaṇasya), whether the army is small or large.
