महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-101, verse-19

ते निपेतुर्महाराज निहता दृढधन्विभिः ।
नागैरिव महानागा यथा स्युर्गिरिगह्वरे ॥१९॥
19. te nipeturmahārāja nihatā dṛḍhadhanvibhiḥ ,
nāgairiva mahānāgā yathā syurgirigahvare.

nāgaiḥ iva mahānāgāḥ yathā syuḥ girigahvare
19. mahārāja te dṛḍhadhanvabhiḥ nihatāḥ yathā

19. O great king, struck down by the strong-bowmen, they fell like great elephants (mahānāgāḥ) that have been felled by (other) elephants (nāgaiḥ) might lie in a mountain cave.
