नावनीतं हि हृदयं विप्राणां शाम्य भार्गव ।
राम राम निवर्तस्व युद्धादस्माद्द्विजोत्तम ।
अवध्यो हि त्वया भीष्मस्त्वं च भीष्मस्य भार्गव ॥२९॥

29. nāvanītaṁ hi hṛdayaṁ viprāṇāṁ śāmya bhārgava ,
rāma rāma nivartasva yuddhādasmāddvijottama ,
avadhyo hi tvayā bhīṣmastvaṁ ca bhīṣmasya bhārgava.

29.
O son of Bhṛgu, the hearts of brāhmins are indeed not to be softened. Be calm! O Rāma, Rāma, O best among the twice-born, desist from this battle! Indeed, Bhīṣma cannot be killed by you, and you, O son of Bhṛgu, cannot be killed by Bhīṣma.
