महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-186, verse-24

निवर्तस्व रणात्तात मानयस्व द्विजोत्तमान् ।
नेत्यवोचमहं तांश्च क्षत्रधर्मव्यपेक्षया ॥२४॥
24. nivartasva raṇāttāta mānayasva dvijottamān ,
netyavocamahaṁ tāṁśca kṣatradharmavyapekṣayā.

24. "Withdraw from battle, dear one, and honor the most excellent among the brahmins." But I replied "No" to them, due to my regard for the natural law (dharma) of a warrior.
