महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-135, verse-26

प्रमूढा पृथिवी सर्वा मृत्युपाशसिता कृता ।
दुर्योधनस्य बालिश्यान्नैतदस्तीति चाब्रुवन् ॥२६॥
26. pramūḍhā pṛthivī sarvā mṛtyupāśasitā kṛtā ,
duryodhanasya bāliśyānnaitadastīti cābruvan.

26. The entire earth had been rendered completely bewildered and ensnared by the noose of death due to Duryodhana's foolishness. And they (the Kurus) declared, 'This (terrible situation) should not be!'
