महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-278, verse-8

विनष्टचक्षुषस्तस्य बालपुत्रस्य धीमतः ।
सामीप्येन हृतं राज्यं छिद्रेऽस्मिन्पूर्ववैरिणा ॥८॥
8. vinaṣṭacakṣuṣastasya bālaputrasya dhīmataḥ ,
sāmīpyena hṛtaṁ rājyaṁ chidre'sminpūrvavairiṇā.

sāmīpyena hṛtaṃ rājyaṃ chidre asmin pūrvavairiṇā
8. While that wise king was blind and his intelligent son was still a child, a former enemy, seizing this opportunity (chidre) through their vulnerable state (sāmīpyena), took his kingdom.
