While those great heroes (Pāṇḍavas) were thus living in the forest, ancient knowers of the Vedas, who were also diligent in their Vedic studies (svādhyāya) and whose wealth was asceticism (tapas), approached them. Then, the foremost among men (the Pāṇḍavas) honored them.
