महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-159, verse-6

पापात्मा पापबुद्धिर्यः पापमेवानुवर्तते ।
कर्मणामविभागज्ञः प्रेत्य चेह च नश्यति ॥६॥
6. pāpātmā pāpabuddhiryaḥ pāpamevānuvartate ,
karmaṇāmavibhāgajñaḥ pretya ceha ca naśyati.
6. pāpātmā pāpabuddhiḥ yaḥ pāpam eva anuvartate
karmaṇām avibhāgajñaḥ pretya ca iha ca naśyati
6. He who is evil-minded (ātman), of sinful intellect, and who consistently pursues only evil, being ignorant of the distinction of actions (karma), perishes both after death and in this world.
