महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-156, verse-14

पिता माता तथैवाग्निर्गुरुरात्मा च पञ्चमः ।
यस्यैते पूजिताः पार्थ तस्य लोकावुभौ जितौ ॥१४॥
14. pitā mātā tathaivāgnirgururātmā ca pañcamaḥ ,
yasyaite pūjitāḥ pārtha tasya lokāvubhau jitau.
14. pitā mātā tatha eva agniḥ guruḥ ātmā ca pañcamaḥ
yasya ete pūjitāḥ pārtha tasya lokau ubhau jitau
14. Father, mother, and similarly the sacred fire, the preceptor (guru), and one's self (ātman) as the fifth – O Pārtha, for one by whom these are revered, both worlds are conquered.
