महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-99, verse-30

पुष्पिताः फलवन्तश्च तर्पयन्तीह मानवान् ।
वृक्षदं पुत्रवद्वृक्षास्तारयन्ति परत्र च ॥३०॥
30. puṣpitāḥ phalavantaśca tarpayantīha mānavān ,
vṛkṣadaṁ putravadvṛkṣāstārayanti paratra ca.

30. Flowering and fruit-bearing trees satisfy people in this world. Furthermore, trees deliver the tree-planter in the hereafter (paratran) as if they were his own sons.
