महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-99, verse-15

निदाघकाले पानीयं तडागे यस्य तिष्ठति ।
वाजपेयसमं तस्य फलं वै मुनयो विदुः ॥१५॥
15. nidāghakāle pānīyaṁ taḍāge yasya tiṣṭhati ,
vājapeyasamaṁ tasya phalaṁ vai munayo viduḥ.

15. The sages (muni) indeed know that the reward for one in whose pond water remains during the summer season is equivalent to that of a Vājapeya (Vedic ritual).
