युधिष्ठिर उवाच ।
आरामाणां तडागानां यत्फलं कुरुनन्दन ।
तदहं श्रोतुमिच्छामि त्वत्तोऽद्य भरतर्षभ ॥१॥

Yudhiṣṭhira said: 'O delight of the Kurus, what is the merit of [creating] gardens and reservoirs? I desire to hear that from you today, O bull among Bharatas.'
