महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-75, verse-24

बार्हस्पत्यं वाक्यमेतन्निशम्य ये राजानो गोप्रदानानि कृत्वा ।
लोकान्प्राप्ताः पुण्यशीलाः सुवृत्तास्तान्मे राजन्कीर्त्यमानान्निबोध ॥२४॥
24. bārhaspatyaṁ vākyametanniśamya; ye rājāno gopradānāni kṛtvā ,
lokānprāptāḥ puṇyaśīlāḥ suvṛttā;stānme rājankīrtyamānānnibodha.
24. bārhaspatyam vākyam etat niśamya
ye rājānaḥ gopradānāni kṛtvā
lokān prāptāḥ puṇyaśīlāḥ suvṛttāḥ
tān me rājan kīrtyamānān nibodha
24. O King, listen from me as I recount those kings of virtuous character and excellent conduct who, having heard this teaching of Bṛhaspati and having performed gifts of cows (dāna), attained (higher) worlds.
