महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-69, verse-7

स वासुदेवेन समुद्धृतश्च पृष्टश्च कामान्निजगाद राजा ।
नृगस्तदात्मानमथो न्यवेदयत्पुरातनं यज्ञसहस्रयाजिनम् ॥७॥
7. sa vāsudevena samuddhṛtaśca; pṛṣṭaśca kāmānnijagāda rājā ,
nṛgastadātmānamatho nyavedaya;tpurātanaṁ yajñasahasrayājinam.

pṛṣṭaḥ ca kāmān nijagāda rājā
nṛgaḥ tadā ātmānam atho nyavedayat
purātanam yajñasahasrayājinam
7. He was raised by Vāsudeva (Kṛṣṇa), and when questioned about his desires, the king (Nṛga) spoke them. Nṛga then revealed his true self (ātman), stating that he was the ancient king who had performed thousands of Vedic rituals (yajña).
