महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-41, verse-23

नाहं त्वामद्य मूढात्मन्दहेयं हि स्वतेजसा ।
कृपायमाणस्तु न ते दग्धुमिच्छामि वासव ॥२३॥
23. nāhaṁ tvāmadya mūḍhātmandaheyaṁ hi svatejasā ,
kṛpāyamāṇastu na te dagdhumicchāmi vāsava.
23. na aham tvām adya mūḍhātman daheyam hi svatejasā
kṛpāyamāṇaḥ tu na te dagdhum icchāmi vāsava
23. O foolish-minded one, I could indeed burn you today with my own power (tejas), but out of compassion, O Vāsava, I do not wish to burn you.
