महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-8, verse-29

अधीयन्ते तपस्यन्ति यजन्ते याजयन्ति च ।
कृत्स्नं तदेव च श्रेयो यदप्याददतेऽन्यतः ॥२९॥

29. adhīyante tapasyanti yajante yājayanti ca ,
kṛtsnaṁ tadeva ca śreyo yadapyādadate'nyataḥ.

29. They study, they perform austerities (tapas), they offer Vedic rituals (yajña), and they cause others to offer sacrifices. All that, and even what they accept from others, is indeed conducive to their welfare.
