अर्थेन हि विहीनस्य पुरुषस्याल्पमेधसः ।
व्युच्छिद्यन्ते क्रियाः सर्वा ग्रीष्मे कुसरितो यथा ॥१८॥

18. Indeed, for a person (puruṣa) who is devoid of wealth and of meager understanding, all activities are cut off, just as small rivers dry up in summer.
