महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-8, verse-22

धनात्कुलं प्रभवति धनाद्धर्मः प्रवर्तते ।
नाधनस्यास्त्ययं लोको न परः पुरुषोत्तम ॥२२॥

22. Family arises from wealth; natural law (dharma) operates because of wealth. For one without wealth, neither this world nor the next exists, O best among men (puruṣottama).
