महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-8, verse-25

अवेक्षस्व यथान्यायं पश्य देवासुरं यथा ।
राजन्किमन्यज्ज्ञातीनां वधादृध्यन्ति देवताः ॥२५॥
25. avekṣasva yathānyāyaṁ paśya devāsuraṁ yathā ,
rājankimanyajjñātīnāṁ vadhādṛdhyanti devatāḥ.

rājan kim anyat jñātīnām vadhāt ṛdhyanti devatāḥ
25. rājan,
yathānyāyaṃ avekṣasva,
yathā devāsuram paśya.
jñātīnām vadhāt anyat kim devatāḥ ṛdhyanti?
25. O King, reflect upon what is righteous, and observe the conduct of the gods and asuras. How else, besides the slaughter of kinsmen, do the deities prosper?
