महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-25, verse-12

अथाब्रवीच्च तं भ्राता सुप्रतीकं विभावसुः ।
विभागं बहवो मोहात्कर्तुमिच्छन्ति नित्यदा ।
ततो विभक्ता अन्योन्यं नाद्रियन्तेऽर्थमोहिताः ॥१२॥
12. athābravīcca taṁ bhrātā supratīkaṁ vibhāvasuḥ ,
vibhāgaṁ bahavo mohātkartumicchanti nityadā ,
tato vibhaktā anyonyaṁ nādriyante'rthamohitāḥ.

vibhāvasuḥ vibhāgam bahavaḥ mohāt
kartum icchanti nityadā tataḥ vibhaktāḥ
anyonyam na ādriyante arthamohitāḥ
12. Then Vibhāvasu, the elder brother, said to Supratīka: 'Many people, out of delusion, always desire to make a division (of property). Thereafter, having divided, those deluded by wealth no longer respect each other.'
