महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-25, verse-8

मात्रा चास्मि समादिष्टो निषादान्भक्षयेति वै ।
न च मे तृप्तिरभवद्भक्षयित्वा सहस्रशः ॥८॥
8. mātrā cāsmi samādiṣṭo niṣādānbhakṣayeti vai ,
na ca me tṛptirabhavadbhakṣayitvā sahasraśaḥ.
8. mātrā ca asmi samādiṣṭaḥ niṣādān bhakṣaya iti vai
na ca me tṛptiḥ abhavat bhakṣayitvā sahasraśaḥ
8. And I was commanded by my mother, 'Devour the Niṣādas!' But even after devouring thousands, I found no satisfaction.
