महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-25, verse-13

ततः स्वार्थपरान्मूढान्पृथग्भूतान्स्वकैर्धनैः ।
विदित्वा भेदयन्त्येतानमित्रा मित्ररूपिणः ॥१३॥
13. tataḥ svārthaparānmūḍhānpṛthagbhūtānsvakairdhanaiḥ ,
viditvā bhedayantyetānamitrā mitrarūpiṇaḥ.
13. tataḥ svārthaparān mūḍhān pṛthagbhūtān svakaiḥ
dhanaiḥ viditvā bhedayanti etān amitrāḥ mitrarūpiṇaḥ
13. Therefore, enemies disguised as friends, realizing that these foolish individuals are engrossed in self-interest and isolated by their own wealth, proceed to sow discord among them.
